Captured Photography vs Simply Captured – Part I: The Vision
In a recent post I gave you a small taste for what to expect from Captured Photography and Simply Captured and my vision behind it. In upcoming blog posts, I will cover different aspects of these 2 brands and what to expect.
I would like to share my vision behind having 2 Brands under 1 Studio:
First and foremost my passion is art, it has been since I can remember. I took many art classes in high school, in their traditional form. Like many I also shot for my school year book. In my mind, at the time, these were two very different arts. Throughout the next 13 years, I dabbled in art and utilized what I had learned in photography to capture life and my kids as they grew up. In 2007, I began to understand and see these two art forms merge in my mind and now in business. I took the art of photography and transformed it to what was in my mind, through Photoshop. Not to change or alter reality, but enhance and draw attention to the beauty and life in my clients. This may be spending a couple hours with a client and their family capturing a day in the life of their kids in a location that brings them to life and is unique to them, it may be consulting with a client on how they will use this art in their home and the colors they should wear. Just like with any painting or art form, the artist behind the artwork is very important. Captured Photography | art will focus on that. CP |art will offer a customized creative shoot for clients who desire a more artistic and specialized approach to their families art.
With that said there is a lot of time, talent, and artistry that goes into Captured Photography | art. We have clients that want a similar unique feel to Captured Photography, but have a limited budget, want to have their kids photographed more often, or want a simpler, shorter, less customized approach. This is where Simply Captured comes in. As the name states it is just that, simple, clean, captured. We want to meet our clients needs exactly and this two brand approach allows us to do just that.
Stay tuned to learn more about the differences between Captured Photography | art and Simply Captured, what to expect, and how to choose which is right for you.

Simply Captured | kids…Coming Soon!
Having 4 kids…one of my passions is kids and capturing them in their truest form. Because kids change every time you turn around, we wanted to offer a way to capture them on a more frequent basis, for a more modest investment. With this plan in mind, starting this month we will be launching Simply Kids, where we will be offering mini, in-studio sessions with Rachel, my associate photographer. More details will be coming soon, so stay tuned to our blog….
I am excited for you to get to know Rachel, she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside
Meet Rachel – A New Addition to the Captured Photography Team
I am so excited for the future of Captured Photography…from the recent opening of our new studio to the addition of an associate photographer to our Captured Photography team. After several months of planning and consideration I have decided to bring on an associate photographer, Rachel Evans. I was looking for someone who is fun, energetic, talented, and of course with an eye for great photography. I met Rachel four years ago when she started babysitting our kids and later had the opportunity to take her senior pictures. After high school Rachel went on to college to pursue her passion for photography. Six months ago Rachel started working as my assistant behind the scenes and shooting second camera for me. Rachel will begin to shoot full time for Captured Photography. We have big plans for the future and some upcoming launches and announcements…stay tuned for more about Rachel and the exciting plans for Captured Photography. In the meantime take a moment to meet Rachel and what drew us to her.
10 13 Things People May Not Know About Me:
- I come from a family of 8, never a dull moment, or a quiet one for that matter
I am thankful and blessed for my siblings and loving supportive parents, who tell me what I need to hear when I don’t want to hear it. - I’m 50% Italian and part Irish and Welsh, enough said…
- Not too quiet, and far from shy, I have always loved performing. My roles have been: in 9th grade I was a blind old nun, 10th grade I was an obnoxious diva, 11th grade I was a crazy maid, and 12th grade I was the principal from the show Greece. Senior year me and 4 others MC’d the Dow Highs Renfair talent show
- Journalism is a passion of mine as well, I spent four years on the Dow High’s Update journalism staff, graduating as the co-photography manager, that year our paper got ranked in the top 2% of the Nation.
- My faith and love for Jesus is the most important thing to me. One of my favorite verses is ” I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free” Psalm 119:32. It’s my desire to bring glory to God and show Jesus love with whoever I meet.
- I have never been able to whistle, so I settle for “singing while I work”, (my oldest brother bought the family nice heavy duty head phones for Christmas, not sure what that’s about!
) - In high school I participated in performing arts, track, journalism, and co-managed the school store senior year
- I am a youth leader for middle and highschool, I love it from the late night lock-ins, to putting the child lock on the car windows with a car full of highschoolers.
- Sand dunes, bonfires, oceans and seas, these are a few of my favorite things.
- Turquoise is my favorite color, blue raspberry and cherry are my favorite flavors, mom’s homemade baking is my favorite smell, and the laugh of a baby is my favorite sound.
- For me, photography is not only an expression of art, but an appreciation of life. I am blessed for the opportunities to see and experience so many things, it seems selfish not to share it. Photography can be a way to allow others to see beauty in something that can be overlooked, or help freeze time and cherish moments and memories that should not be forgotten.
- I have backpacked through the hills of Ireland with an incredible group of people. (I pretended like I was in Lord of the Rings the whole time, which apparently was filmed in New Zealand)
- I’m left handed, right brained, and double jointed.

Rachel welcome aboard…I can’t wait for what the future holds
CP Studio – Where Life is Your Art
10 years after the start of Captured Productions and 3 years after the launch of Captured Photography, we have opened our studio. This was a long time coming and is a must to support the growth and our plans for the future of Captured Productions and Captured Photography. I love the opportunity to get creative, to start with a blank canvas and create a mood, look, and feel. I loved seeing all of my ideas come together, and now I have a place outside of my in home studio to bring clients and offer them more in the way of photography, options, and ambiance.
You can find our new studio in the Ashman Plaza (Map), Downtown Midland. Until you get a chance to visit us, take a sneak peek at our new space.
